Steve thought I should clarify that in this video from 2008, Mei Li is singing, "When you know the notes to sing, you can sing most anything....Together!" She really knew her Sound of Music stuff.

The Lower Lights
I've been meaning to blog about this since my sister-in-law Sarah shared it with me. Her husband, Scott, is the mastermind behind the three amazing lullaby CDs, A Child's Prayer, Mary's Lullaby, and Baby Mine. He also recently produced a CD of hymns called Nearer.
His latest project is called The Lower Lights. I can't wait for this one. Check out more information here and watch the video below. If you'd like to read more, blogger Cjane just blogged about it here.

12/3
Steve took me to the symphony last Thursday at the Kennedy Center. Thanks to Rachel for the tickets. It was lovely. We saw a world premiere of a piano concerto by Jennifer Higdon. The pianist was incredible.
I loved watching the conductor, especially when the music got really big and loud, and he started jumping up and down with his arms waving all over the place. I also really loved it when the music was big enough for cymbals. Do you think the cymbalist gets paid less than a violinist?
When I drove the babysitter home that night, she wouldn't let me pay her, even after much urging, because "it's the holidays." She's a pretty special person. It was a special night.

A gem from 5/28
I don't know what Mei Li is singing at the beginning, but it's funny. Her second selection is "We are the Care Bears." Mei Li's version is much more entertaining than the music video.
