A conversation with Mei

Around Mei Li's birthday, Mei Li and I had this conversation:

Me: I can't believe how fast you're growing up.

Mei Li: I can't wait to grow up and be a mom.

(I was slightly disappointed that despite my best efforts to give her a happy and fun childhood, she still couldn't wait to grow up.  So I came up with a reason why she shouldn't be in such a hurry.)

Me: Just so you know, when you're a mom you're going to have to do a lot of cleaning.

Mei Li: I don't care about that.  Moms are the coolest.

I may never hear that again.

Oh, how sweet are girls? Owen doesn't talk about growing up to be a Dad, he talks about growing up to be a driver. And, you will hear that again.
