The new paint and carpet are in. I saw it all today, and I love it. I actually didn't take before and after pictures of everything. I'll share with you the most dramatic transformation.

I know. I was kind of weird-ed out by the fireplace in the kitchen too, but then I thought about how nice and cozy it would be for winter mornings.
I'm really happy with the gray unless you tell me it looks purple-ish.
I didn't take a picture of my cabinets, but if you're curious, they match the fireplace before it was painted. Believe me, they're ugly. I would love white cabinets someday.
I don't like the quarter round on the baseboards, but we'll do something about that when we figure out what kind of flooring we are going to have. It will most likely be black and white tile of some sort. We'll decide that when we have the cash to do something about it.
Anyway, the kitchen is my favorite part of the house. It's big and sunny and I've imagined many fun times in there. I do hope that we live in the kitchen more than any other part of the house.
There are many things that we'd love to change about the place eventually, but for now, we're just so grateful that it's ours.

It's beautiful! I can't see any purple from the picture. Your yellow table will look fabulous in that light and airy room. What's your plan for window coverings? I can't tell from the picture what you see out the windows (or rather who can see in). Please post more pictures. Do you like the way all the colors turned out? How exciting!
GORGEOUS! I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the idea of a fireplace in the kitchen. I love the big windows and I love the light grey...perfect for your yellow table! (You can always throw a coat of paint on those cabinets or take them off and spray paint them a high gloss white...a Saturday project) Fun!!!
Sarah, I was actually thinking of no window coverings because the windows are on the back of the house, which I think is pretty private.

I LOVE the gray! It doesnt look too dark or purple. It is perfect. I also think having a fireplace in the kitchen will be so fun!

It is beautiful! I think a fireplace in the kitchen is so perfect. I don't know if you know Jan Signore in our ward, but they remodeled their kitchen and have a fire place in there and I have dreamt of one in my kitchen ever since! I love it and the color choice is so serene.
