Surprises are nice.

Tonight, I sat down to dinner with Mei Li, Stephen, and Mi Na.  Li Ya was taking her early evening nap.  Around 6:20 PM, Steve walked into the kitchen and my first reaction was, "What are you doing here?!"  His explanation was that he finished all the work he could for the day!

Clearly, it doesn't take much to excite us during tax season.  Steve could have come home at 7:15 and it would have been special. Steve ate dinner with us and then headed to the basement to play with the kids.  Stephen and Steve were football players, Mei Li was a fairy, and Mi Na was a cowboy.  Early bedtimes went out the window, but it was worth it.

We still have almost two months left of busy season.  I think we're faring pretty well, but of course we can't wait for it all to be over.  Steve's the favorite around here, if you couldn't already tell. 

While Steve put Stephen to bed, I sat on the couch watching Mei Li make Li Ya smile.  They're a pretty cute pair.  I'm in love with this little family of ours.
