A big brother and a little sister.

Yesterday, I caught these two looking at a book together.  I melted into a puddle of love at the sight of Mi Na pointing to different animals in the book, making their sounds, while Stephen smiled, listened patiently, and then put his arm around her.

Tonight, Stephen tried crushing Mi Na beneath a couch cushion as retaliation for the destruction of his fort.  She was terrified of him for about ten minutes.

My "do-not-crush-your-sister-beneath-a-couch-cushion-because-she-could-suffocate" lecture at dinnertime somehow inspired Mei Li and Stephen to tell on-the-spot stories of imaginary friends and their imaginary misfortunes.  Mi Na was delighted.  She laughed and did her best to imitate their sound effects and hand gestures, including the one where Stephen was punching himself in the face saying "ow, ow, ow, ow."

And just like that, not even thirty minutes after her terrible ordeal, she thought Stephen was the greatest person alive.

I love your daily stories. What an adventure motherhood really is. Unexpected, amazing, and entertaining at times. Today Azaleia was giving a little show to the flooring person. :)

I wish I could magically arrive in your house and begin an Anne of Green Gables marathon with you and our little ones. Or to watch Downton Abbey together. I watched the first season in 3 days on Netflix. I am eager to see more.
You are a lovely lady...so glad I have you as a friend. I simply adore you and your insights. You must be a kindred spirit!
