A conversation

Today, we finished up some last-minute things on our old place to get it ready to be inspected. Steve did that work while I entertained the kids at the park.

We've spent countless hours at this park, and we won't be doing that anymore. Kinda sad.

I pushed Stephen on the swing. "Higher!" he demanded. I pushed him higher. He laughed and smiled huge smiles. I pushed him even higher to see if I could create even bigger smiles and laughter. It worked.

"You're so high, baby guy!"

"Yeah! I'm way up in the sky! I'm going to get lost!"

"You can't get lost! I want to keep you forever!"

"I want to keep you forever too!"

"You do?"

"Yeah."

I can't think of a more perfect (early) mother's day gift than a sweet memory with my child and the reassurance that he loves me. I love you, Stephen. So so very much.
