Our Getaway

Over Christmas break, Steve and I celebrated our anniversary with a two-night getaway to Salt Lake City.

We stayed at the Grand America. I hope we get to stay there again. As soon as we walked into the hotel, we could smell these fresh flowers. Beautiful.

Day 1

-slept in

-ate breakfast at the hotel (still dreaming about the pannetone french toast and Steve is still dreaming about the amazing pancakes)

-attended a Salt Lake Temple session

-watched the Joseph Smith movie at the Joseph Smith Memorial Building and loved it

-walked around Temple Square

-bought some rolls from the Lion House.

-ate steak for dinner.

Day 2

-slept in

-Grand America breakfast buffet

-came home to our angels

We felt very rejuvenated after some alone time together. Steve had to keep telling me that we didn't need to call his mom to see how the kids were doing, and that if something was wrong, she'd let us know. When we saw the kids again, they were happy. Stephen was helping his Grandpa shovel the snow.

Thank you Grandma and Grandpa Z. for making this trip possible!

Happy Anniversary! I still remember the perfect day in LA that you were married. I loved your wedding reception too...it was so special and so fun! The other day my husband and I were reading in 2 Nephi 2...where we learn JOY is what life is all about...and I thought of you. I love that you talk so much about joy in your family life! Thanks for your example in so many ways!

How fun and the snow made it look so peaceful! We love, love, love the Grand! It is a destination all on it's own! So glad you had such a wonderful opportunity!

Getaways are the best...make you appreciate everything you have that much more. Mark and I didn't get to escape last year with the move, pregnancy, new twins, ect. so we are well do for one! And yes, I too really hope we get to see each other again some day!

That sounds like a nice getaway. I bet the sleeping in was fantastic :) It's so nice to have some time for just the two of you.
