The Looooooove Pooost!

There has been a whole lot of love going on around here. Stephen came out of primary on Sunday with this heart around his neck.

He knew what it said and later, I heard him tell Steve, "whenever you see a heart, you can remember that Heavenly Father and Jesus love you." It warmed my heart so much and I felt so grateful to his Sunbeam teachers for helping him understand Heavenly Father and Jesus' love for all of us. It's a truth I try to teach them everyday.

We felt very blessed to have 50 degree weather on Sunday. I took Stephen and Mei Li outside to practice riding on their glider bike. Steve came out to join us soon after. Mei Li received that bike a couple of years ago from Grandma and Grandpa Z, but no one has learned to ride it yet. It's kind of tricky. Stephen loved practicing and for now he's content to walk with it or let Dad push him.

The primary presidency gave us a "heart attack," and a secret Valentine dropped off chocolates on our doorstep.

And I loved this little girl.

Today was pretty amazing. I had all sorts of indoor craft activities in mind, but then I realized it was warm outside! Like 61 degrees warm! I said to the kids, "It's warm outside! Let's get out of here!"

We all rushed to get our shoes on and we played out in the backyard while Mi Na napped. Mei Li and Stephen helped me pull out weeds. Mei Li called her weeds "special" and Stephen called his "strong." I kept telling them that weeds were no good, but they liked 'em.

Then it was time for lunch. When the sun is shining and the air is warm, it's time for a picnic on the deck! We ate PB&Js on a quilt and just loved life.

Stephen took a nap and I babysat Saige's Max. Steve sent me a text message wherein he asked if I'd be his Valentine. I laughed to myself and replied "yes." When Stephen and Mi Na woke up, we all went to the tot lot down the street. It was really windy. Stephen insisted on riding his bike down there. They slid, swung, and we all loved life even more.

We got back inside and I prepared a special Valentine's dinner for all of us, cheese fondue. Steve came home with flowers and we all sat down to dinner. The kids were not into the cheese. They love cheese, just not in liquid form. We cleaned up and I prepared the chocolate fondue while Steve read to the kids from "The Friend" for the Family Home Evening lesson.

Stephen didn't really enjoy the chocolate. How strange. Mei Li, on the other hand, loooooved it. I'm glad my Valentine loved it all. I asked Mei Li if she loved the fondue and she said, "yeah, but you missed the lesson." It broke my heart. I thought that I was doing something nice for my family, but I should have been there during the lesson instead of in the kitchen. Lesson learned.

We put the kids to bed and then it was just me and my Valentine

and this very long blog post. How romantic.

Lovely! Yes- get out and enjoy the warmth while you can!!!
Those glider bikes are amazing. Our just-turned-3-year-old-neighbor is now biking like a pro w/o training wheels b/c of practice on his!

Hey, we have two pink ones that no one is using anymore more because the girls instantly learned to ride their bikes this summer, thanks to their balance learned from the gliders. We'll bring another pink one to you the next time we head up that way, then you can have two. They totally work. Having taught Henry and George to ride real bikes, without glider experience, and then teaching the girls to ride their real bikes after a year of "gliding", the girls were like one million times easier to teach. As in, they learned to ride their bikes in about ten minutes. It was awesome.

Annee, we would love one of them. As soon as spring hits, we're starting glider bike boot camp.

Lovely photos. Beautiful family and home. I was positive the guy helping Stephen ride the bike was his Grandpa Z. Imagine my surprise when I read the text that says it is his dad. There is some similarity there.
