A conversation with Aunt Annee

Saturday morning, Steve took Stephen to the barber shop for haircuts. Stephen refused to get one. Later that day, he had a funny conversation with Aunt Annee, who later told all of us about it.

He walked down the stairs with Steve. Steve walked into the kitchen, but Stephen sat down on the bottom step.

Annee: Hi Stephen.

Stephen: Hi. (pause) Did you hear? I wouldn't take a hair cut.

Annee: Yeah I heard that. It's too bad, a hair cut isn't so bad.

Stephen: It's just I thought it was terrible. It's just terrible.

Annee laughed and he kept going on about how haircuts were terrible. She tried to convince him otherwise, but there was no changing his mind. Stephen's cute.

Saturday was our second failed attempt at a haircut with Stephen. He refused last month too. Hopefully we can convince him that haircuts aren't terrible before Rachel's wedding!

You should try the cookie monster song, "I'm going to get my hair/fur cut". Maybe that will work. I have been waiting for you to post about apple picking so I can steal some of the pictures :)

Missed you at book club.

Jude thinks haircuts are terrible too. We've tried everything but he still has a very hard time.

We did put him in front of the TV the last time with a treat and it was much better! Not perfect but satisfactory! I think there is a salon for kids with TV's and lots of fun distractions. Maybe check that out. Good luck!

My little guys were always terrified by the sound of the clippers around their ears. Do they do scissor cuts these days? Maybe if you cut one little hair at home to show him he can't feel a thing it will ease his mind. How cool that he can talk so objectively to Aunt Annee about it.
