Friday

I'm blogging from Steve's laptop so there won't be any pictures in this post.

Today was some kind of day. I woke up before the children with enough time for personal study and prayer, which is usually the recipe for a fantastic day.

The kids woke up an hour earlier than usual and they were both pretty ornery. Meltdowns at 9 AM are unacceptable. I sent Mei Li to her room several times to cool down. I had to send myself to my room to cool down as well.

Naps came earlier than usual. Mei Li miraculously napped for a good two hours and Stephen napped for three. During that time, I napped a little and cleaned the house. Cleaning is so therapeutic.

Mei Li woke up and she sat at the top of the stairs calling for me. "Mama, I sleeped a lot!" I joined her at the top of the stairs and we talked. "Mama, did you know that I love going to the zoo with you?" "Mama, what kind of animals do you like to see at the zoo?"

Later, Mei Li helped me wash the walls with her spray water bottle and rag. "Mama, I love helping you clean." When Stephen woke up, he was very chipper as well. Naps are magic, for children and adults.

The kids had a granola bar picnic on our deck in the afternoon. It was really cute. You'll just have to trust me on that one.

While I made dinner, the kids watched Little Einsteins. After the show, when Brenda Song started talking about eating fish, Stephen yelled, "That's mama!" I thought that was pretty funny.

Steve was home 25 minutes earlier than usual. We ate pumpkin curry soup. It was good.

The kids went to bed. I went to the mall to try and spend some leftover birthday cash. I made a little bit of progress.

I really need to figure out the singing time plan for primary on Sunday. I guess I never mentioned that I'm the new primary chorister. I also never mentioned that our ward split and we are in a brand new ward. It's been fun to see a ward start from scratch. Steve is the financial clerk again, which is very fitting.

Tomorrow is Halloween and our family theme is the letter "F." Are you curious? You'll just have to wait and see.

You will be a great chorister! And it's nice that you'll have a whole year before you have to worry about the CSMP. Are you working on nativity songs now? That's what we are doing in our Primary.

In January when Mei Li enters Primary, she will be so happy to find you there! That pumpkin curry soup sounds delicious.

Oh, how I can relate! Sounds like after those naps all went very well.

I'd love to see Halloween pictures! All I can think of with an F is the Flinstones. I know, its pathetic how little imagination I have!
