While Mei Li was at joy school, Stephen and I had our first mother and son date in a long time. I asked him what he wanted to do and he told me that he wanted to go to the park. So we did.


We walked to the park hand in hand. Stephen put his other hand in his pocket, which melted my heart.

We pretended to sleep in the tunnel and he dragged me to the basketball court just to sit and ask me questions. "What's that?" "Why?" "Why?" "Why?"


We picked Mei Li up from joy school and found the kids playing in the sand at the tot lot nearby. Stephen immediately joined in and the two covered themselves in sand.

I bathed the kids before Stephen's nap and while the water was draining, Stephen pooped in the bathtub. There is nothing I dislike more than poop in a bathtub. The kids thought it was pretty funny.

After I cleaned up the mess, the two of them stood in front of the mirror and took turns saying something to the "audience."

Mei Li: I'm wearing striped panties. Thank you.

Baby Guy: I pooped bathtub. Dank-oo.
(giggle)

Mei Li: I can do a somersault. Thank you.

Baby Guy: I pooped bathtub. Dank-oo.
(giggle)

It completely made up for the mess I had to clean up. Those kids know how to make me laugh. Oh I love those two.
