Mei Li mixes up sprinkles, sparkles, and sprained ankles. This was our conversation after returning from urgent care tonight:
Mei: Mama, do you have sprinkles?
Me: Yes, I have sprained ankles.
Mei: I have sprinkles on my dress! (She was somehow wearing her fancy Nancy dress instead of pajamas. She's a sneaky one.)
Me: You have sparkles on your dress.
Mei: Can I kiss your sprinkles?
Me: Sure. (Then she kissed my feet all over.)
Mei: Are your sprinkles all gone?
Sadly, I still have sprinkles and I'm just a little worried about what that means for running. Sprinkles are a little bit painful.

Oh no! What happened?! That is very cute how she mixes those words up. Brenden used to mix up "tackle" and "attack" so he'd say "Mom - Oliver is attackling me".
Sprained ankles, plural? I'm so sorry! Ouch...
I'm sorry to hear about the sprained ankle(s)! I hope it heals quickly for you, but I know that it takes time! *hugs*
My kids were in our galvanized tub filled with water and they kept throwing toys off of our deck, which is completely fenced in. So instead of going around our complex to fetch them, I decided to jump the fence instead, which I have done many times successfully. Unfortunately, one of the posts I was holding on to on the back side of the fence, detached and I fell backwards onto the hill that our deck sits on. I landed on my feet badly. So yes, both of my ankles are sprained.
I am so sorry to hear it! How are you getting around?
I'm doing a lot better today. Yesterday was excruciatingly painful, but today, I'm getting around just fine. I feel very blessed because it's sort of inconvenient to not be able to walk!
Kids are so adorable! So sorry to hear about your sprinkles!! Miss you! Hope you are feeling better!
love, jess
p.s. I was cleaning out my closet yesterday and ran across my MSU journal from the first year of MSU. Oh how I loved shopping in the flea market with you!! If only we could have been better hagglers! love ya girl!
