Spelling bee.

Today was the National Spelling Bee. I'm sad I missed it. I love spelling. It was my forte in elementary school. I was the last one standing in my fifth grade spelling bee and then went on to the regional spelling bee. I'm still very proud of the accomplishment, if you couldn't tell.

"Peony" was the word I misspelled. It seems sort of silly because now peonies are one of my favorite flowers. If only I had taken an interest in horticulture when I was ten.

ie li, i think you're in luck. i recorded the spelling bee so you can watch it when you come to visit. sadly, i won't be there to enjoy it with you, but at least you can see it =). don't worry about misspelling peony, i misspelled peninsula. love you girl!

Eric and I saw this 12 year old knock out the word "jacquemoit" at least I think that's how it's spelled (how ironic). The words were super hard! I certainly couldn't win it.

Oh! That would have been nice to watch! I loved that movie Akeelah and the Bee. I remember misspelling "general" when I was in the 5th grade spelling bee. I kept putting an "a" after the "n".

I loved spelling bees in elementary school too! I still feel like a pretty good speller, though the words I heard on the National Spelling Bee were way beyond my level.
