Christmas Eve

On Christmas Eve, we celebrated Christmas because we traveled to California on Christmas Day. We arranged for Santa to come one day early.

Santa stuck with the "something to play with, something to wear, and something to read" rule. He also brought sugar cereal and juice. With a few additional presents from cousins, parents, and grandparents, our kids felt pretty lucky.

The kids did their first gift exchange with each other. Their gifts showed just how well they knew each other. Stephen gave Mei Li her "My Little Pony" set, and Mei Li picked out a toy light saber and Annikan action figure. After the exchange, they hugged and expressed gratitude. I cried real good after witnessing such sibling love. I'm sure it will always be a favorite memory. Steve caught it all on video. What a treasure.

12/23

We went to Ray's H-Burger with the Fitzgeralds. Those burgers were humongous and very delicious.

No pictures.

Lost

Steve and I finished watching "Lost." What a relief. We loved it. I loved the ending! I love Korean people! And who knew I would end up loving Sawyer so much? I loved the religious themes. Steve and I would pillow talk about what everything meant late at night. I'm not sure how we can watch another show. I think any other show would be a disappointment in comparison. But it's okay to disagree with me.

Little Miss Mi Na

Yesterday, Little Mi turned six months. She still has blue eyes. She's mellow and sweet, happy and giggly, and I think she likes us. A few days ago, she started rolling back to front. That new skill combined with her older skill of rolling front to back means that she is moving!

Mei Li has been a big help with Mi Na. She watches her and plays with her while I (go grab a diaper, wipes, clean clothes, etc.) Mei loves Mi Na and Mi Na loves her right back. It warms my heart to see sisters loving each other like that.

Stephen loves her as well. Even when he's busy doing boy things, he still takes the time to stop and give her some love. We all love you, Mi Na. Please don't grow up too fast!

Christmas dresses, Christmas cookies, and Temple Lights

The girls wore their Christmas dresses to church. They are from my mother. Thanks Mom.

We made sugar cookies.

Isn't the Washington DC temple beautiful? It's even more beautiful with Christmas lights all over the temple grounds. It was quite cold, but the Christmas spirit was strong and we felt very good being there.

There was no live nativity this time, but I still loved listening to the Christmas story. It always lifts my soul.

Then we came home to eat our sugar cookies.

It was a wonderful day.

12/16/10: Snow

The first real snow of the holiday season brought us a very happy day. We had "a warm day at home," which is how Mei Li would describe it. We turned on the Christmas music and decorated paper Christmas trees with GLITTER.

Then I sent my kiddos out into the snow.

Hot chocolate and a warm fire were waiting for them when they came back in.

Mi Na tried peas.

Keeper

I took this picture last night after books and exclaimed to Steve, "This one's a keeper!" (referring to the picture). I showed Stephen the picture on the camera and he asked, "Am I a keeper too?"

Yes! You wonderful, funny, smart, sweet boy, you are a keeper! You are the keeper-est boy there ever was.
